New article "Propeller Icing Correlated to Liquid Water Content Measurements in Natural Supercooled Stratus Clouds" undergoing review and available publicly

by Robert Spirig

A new CLOUDLAB paper looking at the correlation of power consumption, icing and liquid water content is undergoing review and available external pagehere. It introduced a method to estimate the icing severity based on the power consumption of an UAV and how it can be extended to potentially derive liquid water content. In turn, these result can help pilots estimate the icing severity when cloud top and base as well as liquid water path are available to derive liquid water content.
